How our Facial Scanners Work

These scanners operate on several principles, including structured light projection, time-of-flight, and stereoscopic vision:

  • Structured Light Projection: In this method, a projector emits a pattern of structured light onto the subject's face. The scanner then captures the deformation of this pattern on the subject's face, which is used to calculate the depth and shape of facial features.
  • Time-of-Flight (ToF): ToF scanners use infrared light to measure the time it takes for light to bounce off the subject's face and return to the sensor. This information is then used to calculate the distance to various points on the face.
  • Stereoscopic Vision: This approach involves using two cameras placed at different angles to capture images of the subject's face. By analyzing the disparities between these images, the scanner can determine the depth and shape of facial features.
